What an RDN Can Do for You!

Here are just a few of the benefits of working with a registered dietitian (RD) or registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN).

The highest level of nutrition counseling. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, but not everyone is a dietitian.  Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) complete a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from an accredited university, complete an internship, pass a national exam, and complete continuing education classes.

Personally tailored advice. When you see an RD or RDN, the last thing you’ll get is one-size-fits-all diet advice.  An RDN will listen to you and will help you set goals and prioritize them. Follow-up visits will focus on maintenance and monitoring your progress.

Help managing chronic diseases. If you have a chronic disease, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol a RDN can help you understand how to eat to help you manage your disease.

Guidance navigating food allergies, sensitivities and intolerances. When you suffer from food allergies or intolerances such as celiac disease, lactose intolerance, or many others it can be overwhelming.  It can become so overwhelming that your diet is limited, which can lead to nutrient deficiencies.  A dietitian can help you learn to read labels so you can learn what you can eat and have more variety in your diet.

A weight loss program that really works. There are many diets that celebrities promote, which sound like the quick fix for weight loss.  Usually fad diets are not sustainable for a lifetime.  A Registered Dietitian can help you plan a weight loss program you can have success with for life!
